Cannistraro made headlines in 2011, alongside Wentworth Institute of Technology, when it finished the first-of-its-kind student BIM project. Under the leadership of Cannistraro modelers, a team of WIT students developed a comprehensive as-built model the existing campus physical plant. A t the end of the project Cannistraro turned over an fully-functional FM database tied directly to the model. The project was spotlighted at national conferences around the U.S including Phoenix, AZ, Washington D.C., and last week in Orlando, FL.
